Is this cable a normal serial cable?
I have misplaced mine and want to make sure
the cable I use is correct.

no it has a different pinout than a standard 232 cable. If you call tech support at 877-774-3279 they can give you the pin out for it.

You can purchase the cable for $20.00. The part number is EZ-PGMCBL. I've also attached a diagram of the cable to this post.
