Fast, Dedicated Non-Windows® Operating System
No Reboots, No Crashes, No Bugs, 5+ Year Proven and Stable Design
 It is no exaggeration to state that you will be hard-pressed to find an Automation professional who did not experience a Windows crash. Whereas Windows® world gives the user advanced capabilities in terms of internet access, etc., it also comes with some of the normal Windows headaches of crashes, reboots, slower response time and large memory usage. Whereas complex automation systems with built-in redundant design or non critical machinery/process operations may have enough tolerance for these side effects of Windows®, smaller, simpler machines or that require robust/critical operation, a dedicated operating system is a better choice.
Speed set/up and Response Time
 A Windows® device is inherently slower in response time as it has a lot of overhead to cover during set/up, start up as well as normal response to triggers such as touch input. EZTouch response time is at least twice as fast as most Windows® CE based touchpanels. Customers always marvel at the speed of response of EZTouch for even a busy screen on 15" panel.
Startup of typical Windows® based devices is much more cumbersome as compared to a dedicated OS device. You typically have more choices but the start-up is more tedious, more involved and takes longer.
Dedicated Operating System vs. Windows® CE
The choice of dedicated operating system vs. Windows operating system is similar to dedicated PLCs as compared to Windows® based soft PLCs. Despite predictions spanning last 20 years by proponents of soft PLCs, they have not replaced the main stream dedicated OS PLCs. The same is and will be true for dedicated OS PLC Touchpanels.
