EZPanel offers flexibility for a Drip Irrigation OEM
We are a developer of automatic machinery and devices geared toward the manufacturers of drip irrigation products. Our latest development is a fully automatic flow rate test bench. This device measures and records in real time the flow rate of drip irrigation products, such as irrigation drippers. The device tests the drippers in various pressures and measures their flow. The test procedures are fully programmable and can be set to from a simple test procedure up to a more complex procedure such as the ISO-9261:2004. The device is self contained and can be used as a test bench on the production floor or in a lab setting.
The flexibility of the device is built around the EZP-T10C-F (10" TFT) touch panel through which the operator can program up to 8 different test procedures, setup the way the program will conduct the test, and view all test results. The large touch panel makes it very easy for the operator to see in a glance the status of the test. In addition, we were able to display a total of 240 flow rate results (the maximum for one test) in a table format on one screen. The panel is equipped with a FLASH card which holds the program. We are planning to distribute software updates and upgrades via the FLASH card, a quick, easy, and inexpensive way for clients that are sometimes not computer savvy. Programming the panel is very easy and the new additions in the enhanced version enable us to overlap objects which we use to display small confirmation windows (e.g. Continue? Yes/No)
We are very happy with the panel’s simple and clean look, its performance, features, and its competitive price. We are especially pleased by the customer service we are getting from EZ-Automation. We always receive a quick response on all our technical questions and a warm and friendly follow-up from tech-support and sales personnel. The aggressive price, the quick turnaround and the friendly and personal relationship with EZ-Automation made our decision to continue and purchase all our future touch panels from EZ-Automation a simple one.
EZTouchPLC used on new police harbor patrol vessel
The EZTouchPLC is used as a controller for a hydrostatic drive system
powering high volume fire fighting pump aboard a new police harbor
patrol vessel. The system consists of two (2) hydrostatic drives
and a hydraulic motor coupled to a large fire pump.
The EZTouchPLC functions as the sole user interface for the system. The
operator turns the system on, selects port/stbd/or both hydrostatic
drives and adjusts the desired output pressure from the fire pump
with simple up/down arrows.
The EZTouchPLC also ramps output up to the transmissions until the fire pump
is developing the desired pressure, then it maintains that pressure
by continuously adjusting output signal to the transmissions. Both
desired water pressure and actual water pressure are shown, as
well as transmission stroke %, hydraulic pressure, hydraulic
temperature and fire pump rpm.
Several parameters including hydraulic pressure and fire pump rpm
can limit output signal to the transmissions if their maximum
values are exceeded.
Numerous audible/visual alarms are incorporated including oil
temp, oil level, charge pressure loss, pump overspeed, hydraulic
overpressure, water overpressure and seachest valve closed. The
EZTouchPLC also sends an output signal to the seawater circulation pump
when hydraulic oil temperature reaches a preset level, thus
maintaining the oil at the optimum temperature for maximum
efficiency.
In operation, the system is very simple as all components are
shown on the main control screen with the various monitored
parameters displayed directly on each component. Flow indicating
lines between components show which transmission has been
selected for operation.
The customer, who was initially skeptical of a touch screen control
panel for the entire system, is extremely satified with the unit's
compactness and the ease of operation/monitoring it provides. We
even added the Seattle Police Harbor Patrol logo to the standby
screen as a finishing touch, further 'personalizing' the system for
the application.
EZTextPLC controls water/waste water applications
I started using the EZAutomation EZTextPLCs as an alternative to a
separate PLC and HMI, for compact, self contained water and waste water
applications. The results were very good!
The high speed DC input card is
one of the fastest I've used, and enables me to use open collector paddle
wheel flow sensors, with standard counter logic for a very cost effective
alternative to flow totalizers, and rate indicators.
The ease of the
programming software got me "out of the box" and up & running with a minimum
of learning curve. The fact that they also support floating point math makes
analog scaling much easier and more accurate than other units out there.
I've built five of these compact controllers, doing everything from
controlling pumps, to reverse osmosis equipment, and to date, have been
quite satisfied. The 'EZTextPLC' is much easier to program than the Optimate
series, and isn't quite so dependant on ladder logic to operate correctly.
The low cost doesn't hurt the project either!
Where else can you get an 8
channel analog input module for $99.00?
