Why EZ5 is a much better choice than CM5, learn more:

CM5 10” does not fit in the same hole pattern as EA9 10” and it is 20% smaller. EA9 programs written before May 9, 2022 (Firmware 6.72 or earlier) cannot be converted to CM5.

Screens have to be redesigned as CM5 has a different aspect ratio. Many text objects get cut in half due to shorter height of the screen.

There is No direct replacement for EA9 8”, EA9 12” and EA9 15”. For 12" and 15" EA9s, recommended CM5s don't even fit in to the same holes.

C-More Touchpanels were a copy of EZTouch HMIs as held by a Chicago Jury in 2010. Hence EZTouch EZ3 or EZ5 mounting dimensions are the same as C-More.

CM5 Boot up time is too Slow and It’s memory is too limited.

(Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) Pentagon is well aware of the threat of spy chips inside any automation controls manufactured in China.

Current CM5 price is not sustainable.

ADC claims that CM5 is made in Japan. It will go up in price if Made in Japan.

If so this price is not sustainable as Japanese Manufacturing Labor Rate of $35/hr., same as US, is 16 times higher than China’s Labor Rate of $2/hr.

We believe CM5 is Made in China and only transshipped to Japan. This issue is being taken up in Washington D.C.
