Thank God for the EZ3 EZTouch to replace the EA9 obsoleted by Automation Direct. EZPLC is a unique PLC that is extraordinarily maintenance friendly. EZAutomation developed a High Current (HC) module in record three months that allowed us to control two 24 VDC fans with an inrush current exceeding three times the steady state current, and still be short circuit proof eliminating the need for external solid state relays and fast acting fuses to protect the PLC outputs. The integrated HMI and PLC concept with up to 64 modular I/O is a significant innovation particularly for table-top, small, mid-size machines. Many times the size of the control panel incorporating the HMI, PLC and I/O becomes a challenge for the control designer. There is also a question of having a large number of wires from the I/Os to be properly cabled and taken over to the backend of the control panel. Therefore we do not recommend EZTouchPLC to be used where the I/O number is exceeded by 64, unless the field wiring terminal blocks can be mounted on the front panel itself. But overall EZTouchPLC is a great control for significant reduction in size and cost.
