EZRemote Rack I/O Features

EZRemote Rack IO leaves your PLC intact but reduces your IO cost to 1/3rd.

We totally appreciate the fact that PLCs are the brain of every control system and thus you will many times hesitate changing your PLC for example Compact Logix or Control Logix or DL 205 CPUs from AutomationDirect. But what about the cost of IO, specially Analog IO or Specialty IO. We can save to thousands of dollars per system if you would continue to use your PLC CPU, and just use our Remote IO. It’s EZ to do!

You can use the RS 485 port or our Ethernet Port in our IO to connect your PLC/CPU to our RIO. All protocols are available. Once again, it’s EZ to do. EZRemote RackI/O is programmed just like EZRackPLC, CPU here is primarly used for data transfer to the main PLC CPU like CompactLogix, but it can alos be used to do some local logic.

EZRemote Rack I/O has been designed to meet the HALT/HASS standards that are used for electronic products used in the space program for shuttle launch, which means high shock and vibration along with thermal shock. In addition the EZRemote Rack I/O has a very high immunity to noise.

Automationdirect DL205 series was for sure 2 for 1 of AB, but it had a nagging problem and still has one. The IO modules get locked into the rack but the tabs break, constantly. EZAutomation designed its rack so that its modules fit both in EZ and DL racks. In the process, our mechanical engineers solved the problem of broken tabs and a lock in without the tabs, both is ADC and EZ racks. The 14 different modules are all 16 point IO with mix-n-match flexibility. This is the best RIO solution for a cost effective Compact Logix system.

We have served the Automation industry since 1968. In fact, one of the AVG divisions, Uticor is the inventor of PLCs themselves. We have been around the block and totally understand the value of maintenance and down time in a manufacturing plant. We always make troubleshooting as convenient and EZ as possible. That is why, all our IO points have an LED right next to the output terminal and the terminal block is always Ezily removable and is a plug-in. First the maintenance person has to troubleshoot the system to pin point the problem area with the help of status LED indicators, then the suspect module can be easily replaced without touching the wires. Assuming the system has 50 IO points, if these aids were not there, it would take more than 3-4 hours to troubleshoot and fix the system. With EZ products, you can do the same in ten minutes.
